Two schools will wake up, one wake up

HANDLOVA / Novak. As of the next school year, there will be only two high schools in the district of Prievidza. At their meeting on Monday, Trenčianski MEPs rejected the proposal to fire Ivan Bella High School from Handlova, as well as the high school, organizational unit of the Nováky Combined School, belonging to a network of young people. schools and school buildings.

"In accordance with the strategy of development of secondary education in the Trenčín Autonomous Region by 2020, there were two high schools, namely the Ivan Bella High School in Handlová and the gymnasium being part of the school. Nováky Combined School.

We propose to withdraw them from the school network on August 31, 2019, but we will create a new secondary school in Prievidza from September 1 of the next calendar year, "said Daniel Hilčíková, head of the Education and Culture Department of DSK.

I do not mind children

According to the TSK, the establishment of a secondary school of medicine also aims to solve the work of the staff of the Lyceum Handlova, which should be canceled on August 31, 2019.
Both schools have been in moderation for several years and, in this context, the region has repeatedly decided not to open the first years.

The reason was an insufficient interest on the part of the children to study there. The TSK Handle Gymnasium has also been refinanced for several years because the standard was not sufficient to ensure its operation. The high school management has tried to reverse its decision to abolish the school and, as such, has turned to self-government. His steps, however, were unsuccessful.

They will go to Prievidza

The high school has already worked separately and later, on the decision of the TSK, it was integrated into the chemistry school. Currently, 26 Grade 4 students are expected to graduate in the next calendar year.

Handlova High School, named after the first Slovak cosmonaut, attends 21 children in fourth grade, 19 children in third grade and 11 children in sixth grade.

These pupils will receive the Benedikta Nedožerského Grammar School from Vavrinka to Prievidza. In addition, there is another in the district, namely the high school in the Piarist combined school of František Hanák in Prievidza, which is run by the Piarists.
