The New Stage Theater, after successful performances with the original Slovakian musicals Mata Hari and Madame De Pompadour at the Daegu International Music Festival in Daegu, has signed a unique collaboration with the launch of the original Korean musical comedy Turandot
In June, Ingrid Faisiang, General Manager of New Stage Theater, Daegu, with DIMF President IK Hyun Chang. Bratislava will be the first city in Europe to present this outstanding musical on its stage in Slovak and with our artists. At the same time, the theater has become the owner of a non-replica license – which means that the booklet can be made by the creators based on their own ideas. The boss of the new scene believes that the musical Turandot should be brought to Slovakia in cooperation with the international creative team in 2020.
"I had the opportunity to see this musical directly to the DIMF festival of Daegu in 2016 from Pompadour, and he immediately caught me with his magnificent music, European style, his naivety, and his theme – the story of Princess Turandot is our close viewer and European, especially thanks to the great opera.I believe that such an exclusive Asian title will greatly enhance the supply of our theater and bring to the public a new and contemporary theatrical experience, in several cities of China, South Korea and continues to present a huge success in Seoul.The author of the script is Lee Haeje, the librarian's authors are Lee Haeje and Jang Soyoung, the musicians are Jang Soyoung and Hwang Gyudong

In addition to producing South Korean musicals, they are happy to bring European production titles to their stage. A great success that he has seen, for example, the musical Janek Ledecki Hamlet, present for several years. For the original Slovak musicals Mata Hari and Madame de Pompadour, our artists have won several awards at this festival – the director Martin Kakos, prize for the best musicals of the festival, Sisa Sklovska, Mata Hari, Madame de Pompadour, and Ján Mistrík for the best male actor of the minority (Voltair – Madame de Pompadour)
