We tested how many degrees warmed smartphones to direct sunlight

[ad_1]

During the summer days when the temperature of the sun rises to over 30 degrees, you are sure to find that your phone was so hot that you could hardly catch it. So we decided to do a little test and took three smartphones and left them in the sun. The test showed that in 10 minutes the temperature of the phones could increase sharply.

Our Advice

The biggest problem of overheating can be the battery

The batteries of smartphones of today can withstand temperatures of about 50 degrees Celsius. As soon as their temperature approaches this limit, the phone turns off. The exposure of the device to high temperatures is not the most appropriate because it can easily leak or damage the battery. This will of course cause the malfunction of your smartphone and will require service. However, this may not always help and the phone may become unusable. The battery may even begin to burn and in some cases explode. If the battery is in good condition, it contains functional electronics that can disconnect it and prevent it from exploding

The biggest problem is driving your car on a hot sunny day with your smartphone. If the sun is shining, it can be hot. This is certainly aided by the fact that the use of GPS navigation itself will increase the temperature of the phone. When the temperature is high, your phone may refuse to charge.

The test only lasted 10 minutes, but the temperature rose

In our test, the phones were exposed to the sun for 10 minutes, with a temperature rising to 43 degrees. We did not do anything with the phones. The outside temperature was about 27 degrees, but of course, it was more in the sun. If we leave them longer, they would probably turn off automatically to avoid unfortunate events in the form of batteries or other broken components

Even playing challenging games can make the phone really hot. We played the game PUBG and after 10 minutes, the temperature of the phones rose to about 40 degrees, which is really enough. So, playing games in the sun is definitely not recommended. We also do not recommend long phone calls. If you want your device to last as long as possible, you should pay attention. Not only to accidentally let you down, but also where you left off

HTC U12 +, OnePlus 6 and Google Pixel 2 were the HTC U12 + which hottest was HTC u12 +, whose temperature exceeded the limit in both cases 40 degrees. But more in the video:
