Hello. I want to advise between these two phones (Samsung Galaxy S9 + and Huawei Mate 20 Pro), I can not decide. I have not owned Samsung yet, so that would be a first. The answer is not easy

The camera was great – the situation is very tense at the moment. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a better sensor and is a winner in the night shots, but the Samsung Galaxy S9 + is a little late and offers better unmatched video. If the owner of the new phone often wants to record a video and that is the key, the S9 + would certainly have important decision points. If static photos are more important, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will definitely be at the top. However, the difference is not too big – in our recent comparison of the Mate 20 Pro and Note9 models (which has almost the same camera as the S9 +), Mate 20 Pro only won the hair.
Another important feature is the speaker. But here we are a few – none of the phones have an average speaker, which both have a stereo system based on the same principle. The Mate 20 Pro has a speaker concealed even in the USB-C port, which can be a disadvantage, for example when loading. The general speaker of Huawei's new flagship product is not one of the best, with a slight advantage for Samsung. In any case, none of the telephones are equipped with excellent speakers and, in both cases, we recommend a Bluetooth speaker, just a few tens of euros.
Another condition is simplicity: in this respect, the phones are very similar and the performance they have to yield. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro excels in performance testing and offers more robust performance, but you do not really miss the difference when you use it.
The last important feature is the amount of storage, the top of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but it's not quite that. Huawei is better, it has 128 GB of internal memory and supports new NM memory cards. Samsung has 64GB of internal memory, but this version currently costs about 250 euros less than the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. There is also a version with 256 GB of internal memory, but it costs around 1000 EUR. However, Samsung supports classic microSD memory cards that are much more affordable than Huawei's new NM cards.
What to choose?
Based on the preferred features provided, it is quite difficult to select a phone that will be the winner of each category. In this case, it is also likely that you compare other properties. The most important is the price – if the new owner has 64GB of internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy S9 + will be a more affordable solution.
If the price does not play a role, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a better phone in almost every direction, in addition to the quality of the video. Even regular users will also appreciate gadgets such as super-fast charging, best night photography and the current Android 9.0 Pie system that Samsung Galaxy S9 owners are still waiting for.
