Without bees, there would be no life on Earth. You can do these things to save them

BRATISLAVA March 23 – We need bees for life, like salt. Although sometimes we do not realize it is not just ordinary insects, but they are indispensable. Even the many things you see around you in the wild depend on them. Bees are responsible for the reproduction of most plant species and, as the only insects in the world, they produce something that people can consume. They are among the most precious animal species on our planet, whose work is irreplaceable.but research conducted over the last two decades shows that their amount is declining. That's why we have to do something to save them.

Nature raises the finger

Up to 75% of the world's crops depend on pollination of plants and, without bees, life would be impossible on Earth. However, because of the planet's pollution, global warming and the use of pesticides, they die twice as much as would be normal for nature. It is therefore up to each of us to save the bees and everyone can contribute "with his little one" to the survival of those hard creatures we so badly need. How to do it?

1. Plant the plants for the bees

One of the most effective ways to help bees is to plant flowers that can pollinate in the garden. Ideally, it should be natural plants in the area in which you live, and when you attract in this way precious little creatures in your garden or balcony, you will certainly not regret it. Not only do the colorful flowers beautify your environment, but they release it and help the bees.

A tip for you: bees like sunflowers, lavender, geraniums, poppy flowers, lilacs, rosemary, fucsia, but also thyme and coriander.

2. Do not use chemical sprays and pesticides

Chemicals are promoted to protect your plants against pests, but they are enemies of bees. If possible, opt for natural and environmentally friendly insect removal solutions or make your own. You can control pests without damaging the bees.

3. Encourage those who protect bees

When you are about to buy vegetables or fruits, prefer local producers and farmers. Insecticides, that is, insecticides, are a major contributor to the decline of the colony. Shop better with organic farmers who grow their crops in an environmentally friendly way, promote biodiversity and avoid harmful chemicals. Their products may not look like those in the store, but you will get healthier foods while acting for the environment.

4. Build a hotel of bees at home

You can build a shelter and a refreshment station for little bees to find what they need. Simply create a wooden structure with holes and place it in the garden or on the balcony. Solitary bees that fly past the flowers away from their hives can find shelter and their own resting area. You can put some water with sugar to stimulate them when they need to replenish their energy. they deserve it for all the work that they do.

5. Buy honey to beekeepers

Maybe a bit more for a beekeeper's honey, but it's certainly better than buying it in supermarket chains. It is also much more likely that beekeepers will look after the health and welfare of their bees because the big companies for which their products are only on the sales list.
