Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is celebrating the launch of Bravely Default II this week with a new Spirit Board event. The event kicks off at 10 p.m. PT tomorrow, February 25, and features the four heroes of light from Square Enix’s latest Switch role-playing game as Spirits.
The heroes are paired up to form two different Spirits: Seth & Gloria and Elvis & Adelle. Each of these will appear periodically on the Spirit Board throughout the event. You will also earn additional Spirit Points whenever you defeat Bravely’s new Default Spirits. The event runs until 10 p.m. PT on March 2.
Bravely Default II launches on Switch on February 26. Despite the number in its title, it’s actually the third installment in its series so far, following the original Bravely Default and its sequel, Bravely Second. Bravely Default II is also a standalone adventure, featuring an original cast of characters and story.
Ahead of the release of Bravely Default II, Square Enix recently shared a new trailer explaining the game’s combat system. A free demo of the game is also available on the Switch eShop, and anyone who downloads it before the launch of Bravely Default II will earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum bonus points. The next DLC fighters for Smash Bros. Ultimate are Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. New arrivals were first revealed during Nintendo’s direct show in February 2021, and game director Masahiro Sakurai will give us a preview. detailed about them during a dedicated Smash Bros. stream. next week, March 4.
