Google introduced a new feature this week for Google Home and Google Assistant devices Sweet sleep and alarm clock.
Thanks to this, Philips Hue luminaires installed in their rooms can combine their morning alarms with progressive lighting. When the alarms sound, the lights in your room are brighter, as is the sunrise. Ah, so peaceful, unlike my mornings when I get up and wish the world to go away. Depressing. Maybe I should try this.
To continue, here is a complete overview of what you can do with the new feature.
What you can do
- "Hey Google, gently light up alarm clock" so that your daily morning alarms combine with a progressive lightening. Make sure to activate Gentle Wake Up on the same Google Home device where you will activate your alarms.
- "Hey Google, wake up my lights." You can also say, "Hey Google, wake up my lights in the room at 6:30 am". This will begin to gradually light up your Philips Hue lights at the time you have set and can be set up 24 hours in advance.
- "Hey Google, sleep my lights." You can also say "Hey Google, sleep the lights in the living room." This will gradually dim your Philips Hue lights and can be programmed up to 24 hours in advance.
The Sleep and Wake function is available in English only in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India.
