The last digest of demons for Shin Megami Tensei V presents Manananggal, who is a creature of the Filipino myth. The Manananggal is a demon who usually takes a female form and is able to separate his upper torso from the rest of his body. It can then grow bat wings to chase away victims, prey on fetuses or the blood of someone sleeping.
Manananggal in CMS V is from the Female tribe. The video begins with the protagonist wandering near a Manananggal before moving on to how she will function in the game. True to her legend, she can use Sanguine Drain to turn an enemy’s HP into her own.
Unlike the other demon summaries featured by Atlustube, Manananggal’s video also shows his interactions with the protagonist. She offers to let him touch her, as well as show him how to kiss. Unfortunately, Manananggal’s idea of kissing involves ripping someone’s head off. The demon summary then ends with a teaser for a demon of the Megami race.
