Snapchat is in talks with major music companies to obtain a license. Variety's reports currently indicate that Snapchat is working to improve their musical game. According to the media, the company is currently negotiating with three powerful music companies, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, for the acquisition of a license for the song catalogs to be used in the Snapchat application. As such, the latter would be the case, it is no longer necessary to play a song during another application so that it participates in an instant story. This change would allow users to choose music in the Snapchat app to add to their stories. Two industry sources familiar with the brands confirmed the Wall Street Journal information. In doing so, Snapchat would become similar to that of ByteDance. TIC Tac application similar to its predecessors, musical.ly and Facebook do. In addition, Snapchat would specifically seek to acquire the rights to certain songs only for these purposes. And although Snapchat has previously partnered with music companies such as SiriusXM's Pandora to provide direct access to music, the latter has only been made available to premium Pandora subscribers. In addition, applications of short videos and photos do not attempt to create a streaming music streaming service such as Spotify or Apple Music.
