The first episode of Saturday Night Live in 2021 featured special “ appearances ” from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Brady – but Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump was notably absent from the show’s opening.
Kate McKinnon sat down with QAnon supporter, a GameStop employee, social media giants Facebook and Twitter, OJ Simpson and Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback as she tried to figure out ‘What works always? in 2021.
John Krasinki hosted the first SNL in 2021 and answered many questions from the audience asking him to reprise his role as Jim from The Office.

“First of all, I think the Parkland shooting was a hoax. The teachers were actors and the children were dolls, ”Greene said in the skit. “I believe 9/11 was a hoax, did anyone see it happen. I also told my followers that they should physically murder Nancy Pelosi, she is this woman I work with now.
Greene then shared the last theory she believed in. “I think the California fire was started by Jewish space lasers.
The controversial politician went on to gloat over her new role on the House Education and Labor Committee, prompting McKinnon to say the government was still broken.
McKinnon’s next guest was Pete Davidson as Derrick “Boner” Evans, GameStop’s new majority shareholder.

As the wealthy new investor expressed his enthusiasm for his chance on Wall Street, it soon became clear that Derrick was not very up to date with the current stock market.
When asking the booming stock owner who else had invested in GameStop, Derrick emphatically called the rapper “Ja Rule”. Obviously, the stock market was singled out as no longer functioning by McKinnon.
Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter’s Jack Dorsey were the next guest, with Zuckerberg exclaiming that the platform still worked because “ not only does it help people form communities online, but it has also helped people to meet and connect in real life. ”

McKinnon then moved on to deploying the vaccine, making Kenan Thompson appear as OJ Simpson – sporting an ankle monitor. The controversial football player recently made headlines after receiving the vaccine.
McKinnon noted that OJ was able to get the vaccine with three percent of Americans, but teachers and people with long-term health issues had not yet been able to do so. The vaccine has been dubbed as not working, obviously.

Tom Brady, Trump’s pal and Buccaneer coach, was the last guest to appear on the brief show. Played by Krasinki, Brady was praised for taking “ one of soccer’s worst franchises ” to the SuperBowl for his 10th time there at 43.
But even though he still worked by McKinnon’s standards, Brady noted that almost “no one” was backing him.
“It’s not like you’re some weird Trump guy or whatever, right?” McKinnon asked, prompting Brady to quickly exit the stage thanking “the host” for receiving him.
