The rap legend Snoop Dogg has expressed his support for the head of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, after Facebook and several other controversial figures have been banned from their platforms, including Instagram.

Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, Paul Nehlen and Paul Joseph Watson were also excluded from the platforms.

"We have always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hatred, regardless of their ideology," a Facebook spokesman said in a statement. "The process of assessing potential offenders is complex and this is what led us to our decision to delete these accounts today."

"So Facebook and Instagram have just banned Minister Louis Farrakhan, I want to know why," Snoop Dogg said in an article on Instagram. "All he's done, that's to say the truth, but you're still going to ban him."

The rapper said in response that he and his supporters would "banish" the giant from social media.

"And if we stop playing with you, Facebook and Instagram, how will the f-ks ban Louis Farrakhan from revealing the truth there," he said. "I'm with him, I'm with him, banish me, mother."

Snoop Dogg said that he would continue to put Farrakhan's content on his page, "F – yall k who has a problem with him." He then encouraged all his subscribers to post their favorite Farrakhan video on their Instagram and Facebook accounts.

In the initial report on the Farrakhan ban, the Washington Post and the Atlantic have described it as "far right". Each of the publications subsequently made changes or corrections to separate Farrakhan from the rest of the group.
