LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (NEWS 8) – Many were shocked to see the snow falling on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night.

It was the second time that a trace of snow was reported at McCarran International Airport this month.

According to various media reports, more than 2 inches would have been reported in some parts of the city – and this would have even made a rare appearance on the Strip.

An inch of snow was reported in Henderson, southeast of downtown Las Vegas, and 1 to 2 inches have been reported in in the region of Summerlin west of the city center according to the reports of the national meteorological service.

It was the first time in more than a decade that Las Vegas saw measurable snow. The last time was in December 2008, when more than 3.5 inches were recorded.
