For the second time in a week, it snowed in the Las Vegas area. A winter storm southwesterly on Wednesday lowered temperatures and triggered precipitation.

The city of Henderson, just southeast of Las Vegas, received about an inch of snow Wednesday night, as temperatures plummeted to 30 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

According to federal forecasters, the western edges of the Las Vegas Valley have seen up to an inch and a half of snow.

The snow level dropped to 2,000 feet, causing snow flurries and an accumulation of videos and photos on social media. A local television reporter tweeted a photo of the Luxor hotel's beam of light illuminating the snowfall on the Strip.
