On Monday morning, rain and snow will hit the Detroit subway.

The next system is coming in from the south which, combined with the air from Lake Huron, will create a mixture of rain, some snow and wet roads Monday morning.

By noon Monday, the storm will intensify. Its center will always be in the east, so those further west of Michigan won’t see as much precipitation. The mixture of rain and snow will continue until lunchtime on Monday.

Soon after the working day will come snow and slush. The snow may melt at first, but it won’t last long.

Monday afternoon will be snowy and cool, with temperatures in the upper 30s.

Most of the largest snowfall will reach the Detroit metro area on Monday evening and last until Tuesday morning. This is when we will receive the most snow accumulation. Snowfall rates will be between one and 2 inches per hour sometimes before dawn on Tuesday.

Tuesday will be snowy and cold with morning temperatures in the 20s and afternoon temperatures in the low and mid 30s. The area is expected to accumulate between two and five inches of snow before the storm starts Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be dry and cold. The peaks will be in the 30s every afternoon. The dips will be in the 20s each night and early in the morning. It will be dry, so it will give you plenty of time to clean up after the winter weather.
