Director Zack Snyder recently revealed why he chose to incorporate Superman’s black suit into his cut of Justice League, debuts on HBO Max in March 2021.

“I’ve always been a very strong advocate for the black suit,” Snyder told ComicBook Debate. “I really wanted the black suit; it made sense to me because … Superman is a notoriously not growing character. He is like a rock and everything crashes against him.

“We didn’t really get it in that movie, the classic Superman. I also feel the black suit is a great time marker,” Snyder continued. “If you see a flashback or a flash-forward, him in a black suit lets you know where you are in time because it’s very particular to that arc.”
