Social media erupts after Tom Brady snubbed Jared Goff during Bucs-Rams handshakes after game

Tom Brady is not a fan of losing.

The six-time Super Bowl champion is known for his competitive nature and obviously stands at a very high standard, but he may have let that get the better of him after Monday’s 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Jared Goff walked up to the midfielder for the quarterback’s usual handshake, but appeared to look lost as Brady was nowhere to be found.

Social media erupted over the apparent snub, which wasn’t a first for Brady this season.

“I guess Brady doesn’t know Goff well enough to shake his hand after losing. Yet he knows every [quarterback] after his win, ”said Shannon Sharpe in a tweet, the former tight end of the Denver Broncos and host of Fox Sports.

“Brady is full of what the elephant left on the field. His attitude is bulljive and it’s time to denounce it. “

Brady appeared to snub Chicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles in October – the second time for him – but when asked why the six-time Super Bowl champion seemed to downplay what had happened.

“I didn’t even think about it,” he said at the time. “I think Nick Foles is a hell of a player and a Super Bowl champion. I don’t know a reason or another why I wouldn’t do this. Sometimes I run off the field, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes if I have a personal relationship like I have with Drew [Brees] and Justin [Herbert] and Aaron [Rodgers] over the years.”

So maybe Brady decided to “get off the pitch” this week, but maybe it had something to do with his performance.

“I have to do a better job, absolutely,” he said after the game, via The Athletic. “Tonight was very ineffective, did not [do] a very good job in the second half. The defense played really well, kept making huge saves, bringing the ball back to us. Offensively, we just couldn’t make the plays needed to be effective, and we had a lot of chances. We have to fix them. “

Brady was 26 of 48 for 216 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. At 7-4, the Bucs will face the defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday before passing a bye to Week 13.
