RED BATON, La. – LSU Softball Team named No. 10 seed for NCAA 2019 softball championships and host Baton Rouge Regional this weekend with Monmouth, Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech May 17-19 at Tiger Park.

LSU, number 1 of the regional general classification, will face Monmouth at 16:30. CT at Tiger Park, Louisiana Tech will play Texas Tech at 2 pm CT.

"We are excited," said head coach Beth Torina. "We always like the committee that allows us to play at home in Tiger Park, we had a great year and I think this team deserves a lot of its place."

National team for the fifth consecutive season, the Tigers enter the playoffs with a record of 40-16. LSU finished the regular season tied for second place in the SEC. The Tigers finished with a 14-10 record in the league and collected seven All-SEC honors. The Tigers have won 14 victories against the top 25 teams at the RPI and 21 overall victories in the top 50.

Texas Tech enters seed number 2. The Red Raiders finished 39-14 on the year and placed fourth in the Big 12 with a record of 8-10. Louisiana Tech finished 44-14 on the year and has just won a C-USA tournament championship this weekend. Monmouth is the fourth seed of the regional, finishing 36-16 in the regular season. They have just won the tournament title of the Atlantic Metropolitan Conference this weekend.
