Hotels are apparently a staple for the so-called “Soho Karen” who falsely accused a black teenage girl of stealing her iPhone during a violent video showdown in Manhattan.
It turns out that 10 months before she went mad in a lobby in Soho on Boxing Day, Miya Ponsetto, 22, was arrested in February after she and her mother allegedly caused unrest at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills by refusing to leave. , according to TMZ.
The Post detailed this criminal case in California against Ponsetto and his mother Nicole, who were charged with public intoxication during the incident.
But TMZ’s account adds new details.
Hotel staff had asked the women to leave and called the cops when the couple refused – only that Nicole Ponsetto allegedly assaulted a police officer, pushing and kicking the cop, TMZ reported.
The mother is facing an extra battery charge on a police officer and the two women are due in court later this month.
The incident apparently did not frighten Ponsetto directly – just a day after she was charged with public intoxication for the Peninsula Hotel incident on May 27, she was slapped with a driving charge drunk in Los Angeles County, where she argued without challenge, TMZ told me.
Ponsetto faces potential charges in New York City, including assault, grand theft or attempted theft, the NYPD said.
She is wanted by the NYPD for allegedly attacking 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. at the Arlo Hotel on December 26.
Ponsetto is currently staying with his mother in California, where The Post snapped her on Friday while she was having a quick meal, telling our lens, “I don’t know what the problem is here” and “I’m also Puerto Rican, so thanks.
“She was a popular girl, one of the cheerleaders, a year older than me” at Simi Valley High School in California, another alumnus told The Post on Saturday.
“She wouldn’t even look your way if she thought you weren’t important or had no money,” said ex-student Vannessa Stoerchle, now from Phoenix.
“But I was really surprised to see this,” she says.
“Weird to see someone in high school who was a popular girl end up like this. I never thought Miya would end up racially profiling someone like that, ”she added.
“She was one of those girls who seemed to have given him everything.”
