Hours before her arrest, Miya Ponsetto – better known now as “SoHo Karen” – gave an interview to “CBS This Morning” which ended with Ponsetto silencing revered broadcaster Gayle King.
Ponsetto was arrested in Ventura County on Thursday, days after NYPD detectives were sent to California with an arrest warrant after a viral video showed her attacking Keyon Harrold Jr., a 14-year-old black teenager she accused of stealing her phone.
During the interview broadcast Friday morning, Ponsetto is pictured sitting outside next to his lawyer, Sharen Ghatan, wearing a baseball cap with the word “dad” on top. Ponsetto told King that she considered herself “super sweet”.
“I don’t think that’s who I am as a person,” she said.
“I approached people exiting the hotel because, in my mind, anyone going out is probably the one trying to steal my phone,” she explained to King when asked about the situation. advantageous position.

The viral moment, however, comes in the dying seconds of the interview.
