SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Some of Samsung's new $ 2,000 folding phones seem to be out of order after only a few days.

The reporters who received the phones to review before the public launch said the Galaxy Fold's screen was starting to blink and turn black before disappearing completely. Two journalists claimed to have removed a thin protective layer of screens that they thought were supposed to come off, but which was to remain.

But The Verge and CNBC reporters said they left the diaper and their screens were still down. A CNBC video shows the left side of the interior screen flashing intermittently and the right side in no response.

The phone was "completely unusable" after two days, CNBC reporter Todd Haselton wrote.

The long-awaited folding phone is about the size of a standard folded smartphone, but can open up to the size of a small tablet. The phone is designed to work whether it is closed or open. when it is open, the display on one screen is split in half by one fold.

Samsung promises that the screen can withstand the opening and closing 200,000 times, or 100 times a day for five years.

The Galaxy Fold will go on sale April 26 in the United States priced at $ 1,980, making it one of the most expensive phones in the world, especially if it is not as sustainable as promised.

Samsung did not immediately comment.

The company had a disastrous rollout of a new phone in 2016 with the Galaxy Note 7, which Samsung finally recalled because its batteries were catching fire.
