The HomePod mini is now widely available to consumers, but some early adopters are reporting WiFi connectivity issues. A thread on Apple’s support forums highlights issues some users are facing, and the currently suggested fix only seems to fix the issue temporarily.
Affected users are reporting that their HomePod mini will disconnect from the internet, causing Siri to respond with an error message saying “I’m having trouble connecting to the internet.”

I followed the troubleshooting steps provided by Apple, but it comes down to “I’m having problems connecting to the Internet.” after a few hours. Then it’s normal again.
The troubleshooting steps provided by Apple include restarting the HomePod mini or even restoring its default settings. In either case, the fix is only temporary. Some Reddit users have also reported similar issues with their new HomePod mini.
I also have this problem with one of my mini. It seems to stream music fine when I control it directly (no streaming from phone / device, but it also works great). However, when I ask him to do something. He says he’s having trouble with the connection.
When I restart it. It works for a while and ends up having the same problem.
Personally, I have noticed similar issues with one of my HomePod mini units. It will randomly disconnect from WiFi, and the only fix that works for me is to factory reset HomePod mini and then add it back to the Home app. Like many people on the Apple Support forums, this fix is only temporary, and the HomePod mini will inevitably drop its WiFi connection again.
