Nature & # 39; s Path Foods recalls more than 400,000 gluten-free cereal boxes from its kids, as they could contain an "undeclared gluten," according to a recall notice from the US Food and Drug Administration.

The voluntary recall involves more than 400,000 boxes of the company's EnviroKidz line – Choco Chimps, Gorilla Munch and Jungle Munch – with specific "best before" dates.

People allergic to wheat, celiac disease or gluten should not consume the affected cereals "because of potential adverse health effects," said Nature's Path in the leaflet.

Other Nature's Path and EnviroKidz gluten-free products are not affected and are not part of the voluntary recall. Nature's Path also recovers all affected grains from customers' stores and warehouses.

"The error was isolated in an installation and due to air contamination resulting from an incorrect production planning," the company said in its notice.

In a statement to the United States today, Nature's Path spokeswoman Wendy Kubota said the recall included 416,088 boxes and the entire country for the United States and Canada. That's 5% of EnviroKidz's sales so far and a week and a half of production, Kubota said.

"We pass our gluten-free twice-a-team test every hour to prevent this from happening again," Kubota said.

People with affected grain boxes must return to their retailer for a refund. If you have any questions, contact Nature's Path Customer Service at 1-866-880-7284 or by email at [email protected].
