For the first time, the Pennsylvania Game Commission allows deer hunting with firearms on Saturday and Sunday. Hunters who do not complete their deer tags on Saturday will have the chance to go out on Sunday for the first time.
The start on Saturday did not go well for a group of hunters in Mt. Nice neighborhood, who were taking a break in their cabin at Linn Run State Park after a morning searching for deer and not seeing any or hearing gunshots at the top of the ridge.
“We like the start on Monday. It takes away the tradition, ”said Gary Gorecki of Mt. Pleasant Township, who hunted with his son, Joe, and other family and friends.
Her son, Joe, was also not a fan of the Game Commission allowing Sunday hunting.
