Some people get various items instead of the PS5 they paid for

It wouldn’t be launch day without some disasters along the way, and while many fans are still waiting for delivery of their new PlayStation 5, others have received packages containing the wrong product. ResetEra user Kyonashi was the first to report this, receiving a resealed box from Amazon UK filled with cat food. And they are not alone.

Another user on Twitter received a foot massager in place of the next-gen console they paid for:

While another wanted to document the moment they unboxed their new system, only to find an air fryer inside:

Even one of our team, Ant Dickens, fell victim to this problem. Instead of a PS5, his package contained a Nerf gun.

This seems to be a fairly widespread issue and apparently only affects Amazon UK orders. In all of the cases we’ve seen, the boxes don’t have this Amazon branded tape and have been sealed with clear tape. We have contacted Sony and are in contact with Amazon to try to get to the bottom of the issue.
