Actor Tony Baker mourns the loss of her 21-year-old son, who tragically died in a car accident on Tuesday.
Cerain Anthony Raekwon Baker and two others were killed in a car crash involving three vehicles in Burbank, California, NBC4 reported. Their car was hit by a gray Kia who was racing with a driver in a black Mercedes Benz. Police arrived at the scene of the wreck at around 11:30 p.m. on North Glenoaks Boulevard at Andover Drive to find Baker and the other victims thrown from a silver Volkswagen.
Sgt. Emil Brimway from the Burbank Police Department told the outlet that the victims were no longer breathing when police responded to the scene. They were pronounced dead and the coroner later identified them as Baker, Jaiden Kishon Johnson, and 19 years old Natalee Asal Moghaddam.
A fourth victim was taken to hospital after being seriously injured.
“Officers located a second involved vehicle, a gray Kia, which was only manned by a driver,” Brimway said. “The driver of the Kia was seriously injured and was taken to a local trauma center for medical treatment. “
Police suspect the flaming wreckage may have involved a sprint race and charges could be laid. There is no confirmation yet on who was behind the wheel of the Volkswagen.
The driver and passenger of the black Mercedes were not injured. They were questioned by the police and then released.
One of the cars in the collision was described as “partially broken in half”, authorities said. Cars parked nearby were also damaged.
Brimway said he had never “seen anything like it before” in his 20-year career.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that the Kia and MercedesBenz were heading north on Glenoaks Boulevard at high speed for several blocks and appeared to be racing,” Brimway said. “The Volkswagen was attempting to negotiate a left turn from Glenoaks Boulevard southbound to Andover Drive eastbound when the collision occurred. “
Brimway added that the cause of the sinking was under investigation by traffic detectives from the Burbank Police Department, but noted that there had been public warnings regarding speed racing.
“We recently published a public service announcement on speeding and street racing and its illegal and dangerous nature,” said Brimway.
“We also do targeted enforcement with our traffic office, as well as our patrol officers, on a regular basis. “
The devastating crash happened on the same day the Los Angeles counselor Monique Rodriguez bring forward a motion to discourage street racing.
“App can’t be the only solution,” Los Angeles City Councilor Monica Rodriguez said during the motion’s presentation Tuesday, according to NBC Los Angeles. “We also need to include a proactive approach using street design elements that make it difficult for drivers to conduct the kind of street check-ups and speeding events that put our communities at risk.”
Baker has yet to comment publicly on his son’s death, but fans have taken to social media to offer their deepest condolences.
“Condolences to my comedic brother Tony Baker on the loss of his eldest son Cerain Anthony Raekwon Baker as well as the two other youngsters killed in a violent car crash on Tuesday night,” his comedic colleague said and The truth co-host Loni Amour tweeted.

Baker also released his comedy special Tony Baker and his friends in September 2020.
Cerain, a former footballer, was also gaining notoriety in his own right as an artist. He appeared on the YouTube show Life a joke and talked about music and his relationship with his famous father.
