Sonic Trailer offers a first glimpse of the action movie live

Despite how much the idea of a movie in real Sonic the Hedgehog may sound surreal, it is actually a reality and is inevitable. If the many casting confirmations are not enough to convince you that we will soon be living in a world where a wide-eyed, fast-moving blue hedgehog will live in the same space as real humans, the new trailer will certainly do.

The trailer, which you can look at above, gives us a good overview of the story. As you might expect, it's a familiar story where Sonic will face Robotnik, which is no use in San Francisco. This time, however, the bad doctor seems to be affiliated with the military men who are investigating what is happening with the blue hedgehog. He is also surprisingly impertinent for a devilish doctor, and the end of the trailer makes him look more familiar.

Although Sonic comes to life via CGI, the beloved character is portrayed in the film by Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, House of Lies), a veteran voice actor who played Dewey Duck in the new show of Duck Tales Show Rutabaga Rabitowitz in BoJack Horseman.

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, meanwhile, is played by Jim Carrey. In the games, he is described as a mad scientist, an archetype that Carrey has played many times during his illustrious career. In an interview, Carrey said the Sonic movie will appeal to families, but will also have an edge. "I made sure there were winks, head signs and pissed things that are still acceptable for both age groups," he explained.

James Marsden, known for his recent work in HBO's Westworld, will also be part of the film as a state soldier who will take over Sonic's super speed. The new trailer shows him building friendships with the speedster and embarking on hijinks.

The film Sonic is directed by Jeff Fowler (Gopher Broke), produced by Deadpool director Tim Miller. Its release is scheduled for November 19, 2019; it had to be originally created in 2018 before being delayed.
