Insomniac Games – the developers behind Sony's Spider-Man megahit on PS4 – will be part of Sony Worldwide Studios.
Insomniac's acquisition of Sony has made the maker of PS4 and PSVR the owner of the upcoming PC VR Stormland game as well as many other virtual reality and virtual reality projects.

Insomniac also built the more experimental Seedling project for Magic Leap's AR helmets, The Unspoken, Edge of Nowhere and Feral Rites for Rift, as well as for other games like Ratchet & Clank for PS4. They have been at the forefront of interaction and system development in virtual reality games and their titles reflect an exploration of these new entry systems.
We are curious to know what this means for the future of PC Insomniac games. Will the parent company instead focus Insomniac's efforts on Sony hardware? A tweet According to Stormland's official report, "Stormland still arrives on the 2019 Rift Holiday platform. It will not change."
Stormland always arrives on the 2019 Rift Holiday platform. That does not change.

We certainly hope that the acquisition means a fully realized version of Spider-Man VR, regardless of what game suite the company might develop. We enjoyed Web-slinging in the VR version of Spider-Man, Sony and CreateVR, but we also trust Insomniac to know how to design completely natural Web-slinging VR systems.
In July, Jamie Feltham, editor, wrote about a potential acquisition:
Some thought that Sony should acquire Insomniac from Spyro, but this has never been as true as in 2019. Not only does Insomniac manufacture state-of-the-art VR games for Oculus like Stormland, but it has also launched the exclusive exclusive Exceptional PS4 Spider-Man Last Year. The fact that Insomniac is sitting on this virtual reality experience and has not created a PSVR game yet is infuriating. This will probably never happen, but if there was a studio that Sony would choose to acquire, it would be these guys.
chances: Not at all likely
Jamie has published this article under the title "6 VR developers that Sony could buy to secure the future of PSVR 2".
Once, therefore, to ensure the future of PSVR 2.
