PlayStation unveiled several new trailers for a variety of indies on Thursday morning. Blog posts ranged from revealing PlayStation versions of upcoming titles to showing off new trailers for existing games.

Here’s a look at the seven PlayStation indies highlighted on Thursday.

Wytchwood

Wytchwood is a stylish new crafting / brewing game from Alientrap Games. Players will control a witch wandering through a nearby wood collecting ingredients, meeting fairy-tale characters, and cooking up various concoctions.

The developers describe the game as “cold” and the suggestion seems to be that while the witch is trying to do good, she is primarily interested in helping people to leave her alone. Reliable!

Wytchwood arrives on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this fall.

Sun crest

Sun ridge is a vertical scrolling shooter of the Platinum Games and an official 80s sequel Moon crest and Terra Cresta Games. Originally developed by Nihon Bussan, Platinum took the franchise’s ideas of powering up by docking with allied ships to create a modern Cresta game.

Sun ridge features a “dock-and-split” system, which allows players to combine their squad of ships to create new attacks. And different combinations will change the behavior of Voltron-type ships.

Sun ridge is coming to PlayStation 4 later this year.

A short hike

A short hike is a hike and fly game by Adam Robinson-Yu. Players will control Claire, a bird capable of freely exploring a rural mountain by land or air. She will meet a variety of new friends during her adventure.

The game also features a collection of mini-games, like beach volleyball, to distract Claire on her journey.

Originally released in 2019 on Windows PC, A short hike will arrive on PlayStation 4 this fall.

Without beef 2

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals follows on from 2016 Without beef from Night School Studio, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The original Without beef was a paranormal story about a ghostly signal and a dimensional rift.

Without beef 2 sees players face off against a new character, Riley, to investigate another mystery. The game will play out the same as the first one, with its conversation system driving the gameplay.

Without beef 2 coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2022.

Carrion

Carrion, last year’s super spooky monster blob game from Phobia Game Studio, is coming to PlayStation. The game is already available on Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Xbox One.

Our Carrion The review got our own Toussaint Egan’s “Polygon Recommends” badge, which called it a “masterpiece of body horror”.

Carrion will debut on PlayStation later this year.

Underworld

Underworld, Polygon’s game of the year for 2021, arrives on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next week. Supergiant Games dropped a 24-minute run on the PlayStation Blog to show gamers the gorgeous art running on one of Sony’s systems.

Underworld is a roguelite game with a focus on history. He follows Zagreus, son of Hades, as he tries to escape the underworld and find his mother.

Supergiant will launch Underworld for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on August 13.

Axiom Verge 2

Axiom Verge 2 is a sequel to Metroid-like 2015. The game’s sole developer, Tom Happ, has released a new trailer for the PlayStation Blog, which showcases a host of powers players can acquire throughout their journey.

But Happ had another revelation: Axiom Verge 2 it’s two worlds in one. The entire game map also has an alternate dimension. Players will be able to jump from one dimension to another to uncover new secrets and advance the story of the game.

Axiom Verge 2 is expected to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC later this year.

Update: we have updated this story to clarify Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals’ release window.
