Sony Offers Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds, Removes Game From Online Store

When gamers found out that Cyberpunk 2077 worked like trash on older consoles, CD Projekt Red suggested requesting a refund. At first, many struggled to do just that. Today, Sony clarified that it will offer a refund to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 from its digital store.

But Sony is going even further and is removing the game entirely from PlayStation Store until “further notice.” You can find Sony’s full (and short) statement here.

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games of the year. After several delays, the open-world RPG released on December 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. While the PC version performs well despite many bugs, the game struggles a lot on older platforms, especially the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

CD Projekt Red is working on fixes to make the game work better on older hardware. A big patch is expected in January, followed by another in February. If the game is to make it back to PlayStation Store again, these fixes are going to have to do a lot of work.
