Sony revitalizes its smartphone franchise with cinema-style screens

Ben Wood of CCS Insight said the handsets were well designed, but it was hard to see how they would stand out from the crowd.

"We are not convinced that the 21: 9 report is sufficiently differentiated despite Sony's strong content credentials," he said.

Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight, said the new devices were "a step in the right direction, but Sony continues to face monumental challenges to compete with the launch of new devices, rich in new features to very interesting prices ".
