Every year at CES, Sony announces a new line of TVs that then roll out throughout the year in different markets. This is Sony’s best step forward and the company’s main high-end TV set that clashes with rivals Samsung and LG.
This year, Sony announced a slew of 8K, 4K OLED and 4K LED LED TVs. Below is a list of all model numbers and screen sizes:
- Master Series Z9J: 85 inch, 75 inch 8K LED TVs
- Master Series A90J: 83-inch, 65-inch and 55-inch OLED TVs
- A80J: 77-inch, 65-inch and 55-inch 4K OLED TVs
- X95J: 85 inch, 75 inch and 65 inch 4K LED TVs
- X92 and X90J: 100 inch, 75 inch, 65 inch, 55 inch and 50 inch 4K LED TVs
Basically, all new Bravias come with the new XR processor. Sony is finally switching from the X1 Ultimate that propelled its 2019 and 2020 flagships to a new “cognitive processor” that promises to improve image quality in real time by focusing on specific areas of a scene.
As televisions grow in size, Sony claims that our brains don’t see the entire screen and instead focus on the parts of it where the action takes place. So, in close-up, the new XR processor will strive to deliver the most realistic skin tones. In the larger shots, it will focus on different elements of the scene and enhance them to attract viewers.
Sadly, we won’t get a chance to really see that in action since this year’s CES is virtual, but Sony TVs are some of the best in the market for picture quality and we don’t expect that. these new flagship products disappoint. .

The next big upgrade comes in the form of HDMI 2.1 capabilities across the board. All five of the new Bravia XR models feature 4K 120 fps inputs, variable refresh rates, low latency auto mode for gaming, and e-ARC. These were previously only available on last year’s X900H 4K LED model.
Another notable addition is the new user interface for Google TV. The updated Android TV skin is currently only available on the latest Google Chromecast. Sony’s new Bravia line will be the first in the world to get the Google TV user interface, which means you can expect to receive personalized content recommendations, create watchlists and have a more media hub. smart in your living room compared to your current Android TV. .
