The United States has about $ 1.57 trillion in student debt. Some Democrats want to create student loan forgiveness plans that make them disappear, or at least a large part of them.
The cancellation of student debt has grown with 2020 candidates vying for the votes of young American graduates. Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Was the first presidential candidate of 2020 to unveil a plan to erase much of the student debt.
But what would it really take to eliminate a lot of the student debt held by the government, and is that really a good idea?
