MADISON, Wis. – Mountain Dew replied to complaints from the Upper Peninsula Twitter page, which indicated that UP is mentioned in Wisconsin in the company's new campaign.

"Hey, Upper Peninsula: we hear you and we're sorry for misplacing you on our #DEWnited map," said Mountain Dew in a tweet.

The map, which shows the 50 states in the bright colors of Mountain Dew, represents the Upper Peninsula as part of Wisconsin, instead of Michigan.

The Upper Peninsula Twitter page is not happy with the mistake and asks Mountain Dew to fix it or send free sodas to UP residents.

"I'm not in Wisconsin," tweeted the Upper Peninsula at Mountain Dew. "Fix this, or send a free case to all my residents, your call."

Mountain Dew apologized to the UP and said that they hoped to be forgiven to its inhabitants.

"Give us a chance to right our wrongs," tweeted Mountain Dew. "Help us fill out this special edition tag by telling us everything you love about the Upper Peninsula (personal note: located in MICHIGAN)."

The company is now adding Upper Peninsula to its #DEWnited special campaign. It rewards drinkers with $ 100 when they collect bottles from all 50 states.
