Sotomayor denied the emergency request without providing an explanation or addressing the request to the entire tribunal for consideration.
Sotomayor’s decision follows a similar ruling by fellow court colleague Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who refuse an emergency call from Indiana University students in August and allowed the school to move forward with mandatory vaccinations.
