Source – Dolphins agree to bring back WR Parker

DAVIE, Florida – The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement on a two-year contract with wide receiver DeVante Parker, told Adam Schefter of the Spanish league, a source of the circuit. The transaction is $ 13 million if it covers all the incentives included in the contract.

The new agreement removes the $ 9.4 million fifth-year option that would have been guaranteed if Parker was still on the list on Wednesday and replaced it with a two-year deal with lower base.

The Dolphins exercised their fifth-year option on Parker last April in the hope that the player realizes the potential that earned him to be ranked 14th overall in the 2015 Louisville Selection.

Injuries and inconsistency of Parker have prevented him from becoming this player, but the new scheme still wants to invest in Parker at lower cost.

Parker's best season came in 2016 when he finished second on the Dolphins with 744 yards on a 56-pass, four-touch record. He had 24 catches for 307 yards and one touchdown in 11 games last season.

Parker, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound receiver, has the ability to handle games.

In 2018, Parker seemed to be sometimes in the niche of Adam Gase. Parker's agent, Jimmy Gould, made the headlines mid-season by calling Gase "incompetent" in statements to the media.

But it's a new era in Miami with head coach Brian Flores and general manager Chris Grier. They want to see if Parker, 26, can boost his career.

Parker will join a group of young dolphin recipients that includes Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant.
