According to a source close to the phones, the next Google Pixels mid-range are indeed called "Google Pixel 3a" and "Google Pixel 3a XL", as announced for the first time last week. We can also independently confirm some previously assumed specifications and offer more details about the devices …

First, we can corroborate the names discovered last week in Android Q. After long supposed to call "Google Pixel 3 Lite", the latest version of Android has announced another, more unusual: Google Pixel 3a. According to our source, "Pixel 3a" and "Pixel 3a XL" are indeed the essential names of these two devices on the market.
We can also confirm certain specifications, some of which had already been the subject of rumors and others easily assumed, given the close links between the devices and the Pixel 3 line, both in name and in style. First, as has already been widely reported, the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will indeed have screens of 5.6 inches and 6 inches, respectively.
As for the other external details, we were told that the devices would come in both Clearly White and Just Black, but we were also told that there was a third color beyond the black and white that Google could launch in the hope of pushing more units. The physical dimensions previously mentioned, and the renderings that these dimensions have brought (see photo above, below), are indeed accurate.

They also offer many features of the Pixel 3 – perhaps more than you'd expect with a phone meant to be a few hundred dollars cheaper. The squeezable sides of Active Edge, the Titan M security chip, eSIM, will both have 64GB of storage.
Some other details, including processors and battery sizes, have not been confirmed yet. According to rumors, the devices would have a combination of Snapdragon 670 or 710 processors, and the smaller Pixel 3 would have a battery of about 3,000 mAh. We can confirm that both devices will support a fast charge of 18 W via USB-C.
Update: We can now confirm more specifications on the Pixel 3a via a reliable source. The 5.6-inch screen of the device is OLED (and not LCD as many have supposed) and has a resolution of 2220 × 1080 to 440 dpi. There's a Snapdragon 670 on board, 4GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel front wide-angle shooter and a 12-megapixel rear shooter. The battery of the small Pixel 3a is 3000 mAh.
Our source indicates that the camera produces the same image quality as Pixel 3, but that the camera application has poorer performance. We still do not know how the 3a XL differs from 3a.
Android fontDavid Ruddock previously said that Google Pixel 3 "Lite" and Google Pixel 3 XL "Lite" would be launched on Verizon in the US "this spring". Our source could not confirm anything on the aircraft launch schedule, but suggested The AP report is probably accurate.
The price and launch schedule are not yet known, but it seems like a launch for these devices is imminent – hopefully we'll know it soon.
