UFC two-weight champion Amanda Nunes withdrew from her featherweight title defense against Megan Anderson next month for undisclosed reasons, according to multiple sources.

Nunes (20-4) was scheduled to defend his 145-pound title against Anderson (10-4) in the main event of UFC 256 on December 12 in Las Vegas. The UFC has not officially announced the cancellation of the fight or a new main event for what will mark its last pay-per-view of 2020.

Anderson, who is leading a two-game winning streak and has yet to fight for a UFC championship, tweeted a series of heartbroken emojis from his account on Monday.

“All I was told was that she had a ‘serious medical problem’ and that they were currently working on rescheduling the fight,” Anderson added later in a statement. “Obviously it sucks because we’ve worked so hard for it, but I hope she recovers quickly and the goal stays the same. Nothing ever came easy for me. It’s fair. another part of the trip and we ‘I’ll be ready for the date they set. Our time is coming somehow.’

Widely regarded as the greatest fighter of all time, Nunes holds the UFC titles of 135 and 145 pounds. She hasn’t lost since September 2014. Nunes and her partner, UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff, celebrated the birth of a daughter in September.
