Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving is changing representation and is expected to join Roc Nation Sports, ESPN sources told the league.

Irving was separated from longtime agent Jeff Wechsler on Wednesday, paving the way for him to finally work with Roc Nation's Jay-Z before the start of the creation of the company. NBA free agency on June 30, sources said.

Irving, an All-Star six times, will become an unrestricted free agent, and League sources say he remains intensely interested in the Brooklyn Nets. The New York Knicks are expected to remain competitive for Irving, sources at ESPN also said.

The Nets and the Knicks have both hoped to have Irving and Kevin Durant sign together for a maximum of pay slots. Durant's free will was complicated by a ruptured right Achilles tendon that should keep him out of the 2019-20 season. The Knicks and Nets are still interested in signing Durant and Irving together, League sources said.
