Sources – Tampa Bay Buccaneers rock the offensive line and throw AQ Shipley down center

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will shake their shorthanded offensive line on Sunday, as sources confirm to ESPN that Ryan Jensen will step into custody and be replaced as starting center by AQ Shipley.

NFL Network first announced the offensive line changes Sunday morning, a week after Tampa Bay was overwhelmed by the scrum in its 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The Buccaneers will also be denied the start of left guard Ali Marpet, who was ruled out on Sunday due to a concussion.

Jensen started center in Tampa Bay’s first nine games this season. Shipley is yet to start this season, his first with Tampa Bay, but was a favorite of Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians when they were with the Arizona Cardinals.

Last week the Bucs inserted replacement Joe Haeg in place of Marpet and he struggled. Tom Brady has been pressured on 46.3% of his backhands, the most he has seen since 2016. Haeg is more of a rotating player while Shipley is more of a true offensive interior lineman.

The Bucs are hoping Sunday’s new combination, with Shipley in center and Jensen in left guard, will work better until Marpet returns.

Shipley, an 11-year veteran, reunited with the Arians this past offseason after spending the previous five years with the Cardinals.

The Bucs ran just 8 yards on five attempts last Sunday, and Brady was sacked three times in the loss to the Saints.
