The South Carolina man who was widely praised for buying $ 540 worth of Girl Scout cookies was arrested Tuesday by officials of the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the WYFF.
Detric Lee McGowan, 46, from Piedmont, South Carolina, was cited in a 21 – page indictment, along with other people, for conspiring to import and possess for the purpose of distributing heroin, cocaine and fentanyl.
McGowan is also one of four suspects named in the indictment for allegedly plotting to bring out more than one million US dollars, according to DEA officials .
McGowan has received wide recognition after the publication of a viral publication on Facebook. According to the Facebook message, which was deleted, McGowan stopped at the girls' cookies booth and bought seven boxes of cookies; he gave $ 40 to the girls and told them to keep the change.
