The second SpaceX launch in 2019 put into orbit a trio of spaceships, including an Israeli spacecraft that represents the first privately funded lunar mission.

The final payload on board is a small experimental spacecraft for the US Air Force research laboratory. Called S5, the satellite will carry out a one year mission.

This was the second time that SpaceX had launched and landed a Falcon 9 rocket three times. The company entered history in December when it became the first company to fly three times with the same orbital class rocket. The reuse of rockets is key to the space society Elon Musk, which hopes to make humanity "a multiplanetary species".

Last year, SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 Block 5: The most advanced version of the workaholic rocket. Each Falcon 9 Block 5 "can perform at least 100 flights," said Musk in May.
