The Spice Girls have announced the release of a deluxe edition of their debut album Spice to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Scheduled for release on October 29 and curated by the band themselves, it brings together the original chart-topping album with some of their favorite bonus tracks and B-sides, as well as unreleased recordings from the Virgin Archives.

A collection rich in highlights, the album features their four UK No.1 singles as well as a variety of remixes.

Speaking of the release, Victoria Beckham, 47, said: “We couldn’t let 25 years go by without thanking the fans for their incredible support.

Mel C, 46, rang the bell: “25 years old, wow! I have so many wonderful memories of writing, recording, promoting and touring this album and so many people to thank.

“It was the record that launched us on our incredible journey. Many thanks to our fans and family all over the world.

‘Thank you for always being here with your unwavering support and for making our dreams come true. My love and gratitude always.

Mel B, 46, also thanked fans for their support over the past 25 years and said she hopes the ‘free to be themselves’ message still resonates.

Emma Bunton, 45, called the last 25 years “pure magic” and added “Spice Girls Forever!”.

Before the album’s launch, a radio mix of Say You’ll Be There where the harmonica is replaced by a saxophone solo was released on Wednesday.

The iconic Spice album, released on November 4, 1996, spent fifteen weeks at No. 1 on the official UK Albums chart over four separate periods, spending more than a year in the Top 40.

The album also topped the US Billboard 200 album chart and was No. 1 in thirteen other countries around the world.
