If Disney can afford to bring Avengers: End of the game Back in the cinema with a few things snatched from the release of the Blu-ray disc, why not Spidey? Sony has announced its new release Spider-Man: far from home in theaters with a special "long cut" that includes … an extra four minutes of film. And we have a good idea of what it could be.
As stated by Deadline, Sony brings Tom Holland Far from home Back in theaters for the Labor Day weekend on August 29th. The new extended version includes a four-minute scene that has been cut from the original movie. Sony did not comment on what scene is added Far from home, although Deadline has called it an "action sequence never seen before".
It's pretty ridiculous to re-edit a movie for four more minutes, but it's not an unprecedented move. Earlier this year, Avengers: End of the game has been reissued in theaters – with even fewer new images – to try to surpass it Avatar as the most profitable movie of all time. It succeeded. Deadline notes that Far from home is already Sony's most profitable global movie, having already overtaken Sky Fall.

In a previous interview with io9, director Jon Watts gave details of an action scene that had been spotted in the trailer but had not been included in the film. The trailer, which showed Spider-Man joking with the NYPD, was originally part of a much larger sequence – a sequence that Watts had promised fans to see on the release at home:
It's part of a montage where Peter does a bunch of races he has to do before flying to Europe. And the joke was his shopping where he had to buy a dual headphone adapter … he had to get one of those European travel cards, he sold some of his figurines so that he had enough of it. money for [buy MJ a present], pick up his passport, and he had to shoot down this family of extremely dangerous crime. This is Spider-Man's to-do list.
Obviously, Sony bet on a few more chips before Spidey returns to Queens. Another story is whether fans will come back four hours later to attend the home outing.
