Spider-Man No Way Home Set Photo Reveals PARTY – / Movie

Spider-Man: No Path Home could be the most anticipated Marvel movie of the year, simply because we know so little about it. The film is currently slated for a December 17 release, but the studio has been extremely secretive about plot details and the cast.

Since the studio is so good at keeping secrets, we’ve been left looking for crumbs for speculation. But the fans are eagle-eyed and always on the prowl – and best of all, they have cameras. So, on rare occasions like today, a set photo can give us a glimpse of who and what might appear in the MCU’s third Spider-Man movie. And a set photo gives a glimpse of what’s to come.

At times like this, you start to wonder: are camera phones the biggest enemy of Marvel? But that’s a topic for another article, the important point to remember here is that we now know a bit more about No way home.

The photo (see here) shows Tom holland‘s Peter Parker got dressed and motioned to Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange outside of what appears to be Sanctum Santorum. And in the middle of the pair is a FEAST truck that will surely sound the alarm for comic book readers (or PS4 gamers).

We were already expecting to see Peter and Strange together in the film, as Cumberbatch’s appearance has been confirmed by the studio. But the FEAST Truck is a cartoon Easter Egg that features an organization deeply rooted in Peter’s history as a hero. His appearance might even be enough to hint at some new heroes and villains to come to the MCU.

What is the FESTIVAL?

FEAST stands for food, emergency aid, shelter and training. In the comics, the organization started out as a criminal front, led by Martin Li, a philanthropist whose double life was to lead the White Dragons gang. So, between housing and feeding the homeless, Li was a menacing Chinatown crime boss nicknamed Mister Negative. His powers allowed him to control both Lightforce and Darkforce, giving him both healing abilities and a form of mind control, where he could “corrupt” others with darkness.

Li made frequent power plays for New York only to run into problems – web problems, heavy jokes from our own Spider-Man. Being led by a supervillain is never good news for an organization and once Li and Mister Negative were revealed to be identical, FEAST was shut down. Luckily, a Good Samaritan who once volunteered for the charity got things going: May Parker.

How can FEAST affect the MCU?

While Spider-Man: Far From Home had lots of jokes to tell about a post-Blip world, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier focused on the darker aspects of the new normal. Its main antagonists, the Flag Smashers, were a revolutionary group with a rather confused objective. However, one thing they made clear was their contempt for the new world order. The return of half of the world’s population has meant that many have been displaced and turned away, leaving a perfect opening for an organization like FEAST to help.

Marisa Tomei‘s Aunt May has previously shown an interest not only in charitable work, but more specifically in helping those affected by the Blip. Far from home showed her that she was working with the Salvation Army to find homes for the displaced people. She even used her nephew as a special guest to raise funds. Whether or not May’s job is affected by the big twist at the end of Far from home (spoiler alert), revealing Peter’s identity to the world, remains to be seen. But working with FEAST would be a smart continuation of what it has already started to do.

FEAST could easily be a project that May tackles on her own or with her ex-boyfriend Happy Hogan. Or, if the Spider-Man movie needs even more villains, it could be a project with Martin Li.

Those who know Marvel’s PS4 Spider Man the games probably associate another hero with the work of the organization. In the game, FEAST was a way for Peter to befriend Miles Morales and even played a role in giving him his powers. Could this also be a way to drag Miles into the MCU? It wouldn’t be the first time that a Spider-Man movie has taken steps to prepare for its future.

As always, we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully a trailer for No way home is on its way, but if not, there are always leaks to watch out for.
