One of the directors of Spider-Man: Towards the Spider-Verse revealed that he was about to pay tribute to comic book writer Stan Lee before his Oscar acceptance speech was shortened.
Bob Persichetti was on stage alongside co-directors Rodney Rothman and Peter Ramsey when they ran out of time during the best animated film talk.
Behind the scenes, Persichetti said he was about to thank Lee and Steve Ditko, the co-creators of Spider-Man, for inspiring the filmmakers.

Lee, the founder of Marvel, died in November at the age of 95, while Ditko had died in June at the age of 90.
Persichetti said, "We would like to thank Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for inspiring this whole thing and for being convinced that all of us humans have the potential and the ability to be heroes."
He said that from day one, the filmmakers wanted the film "to invite the public to believe in themselves and their neighbors, to be really positive and to make a difference in the world".
Spider ManS Oscar The win was a first for the three directors, while Ramsey became the first African-American to win the Best Animated Film category. The prize was presented for the first time in 2001.

But her return in 2014 was a much closer affair and helped to reconfigure the Oscars for the era of social media. DeGeneres was a consummate luvvie and kept the humor discreet and respectful. The ceremony culminated with a live starry selfie, captured by a host of stars such as Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Personality more energetic than most of his predecessors, the star of When Harry Met Sally … s & # A multi-talented performance artist is revealed, and would come back five more times over the years. He was comfortable with the direction of the show, not to mention the personal promotion: at the 1991 awards, in order to promote City Slickers, he closed the ceremony by riding backstage. The last appearance of Crystal as a guest took place in 2012, when he was asked to hold the baton following the disaster of James Franco and Anne Hathaway the year before.

The actor organized (and co-hosted) the awards ceremony 19 times between 1940 and 1978, presenting for the last time the fiftieth anniversary of the Oscars. Hope was popular for its charm and confidence, as well as for its funny one-liners. Jack Lemmon awarded him a unique gold medal for his services at the Academy of Oscars in 1966. In accepting the award, he joked that "whoever wants to watch it can come to my house and it will be in the sanctuary".

Spider-Man: Towards the Spider-Verse won in front of the nominees, including Pixar Indestructible 2, Disney's Ralph breaks the Internet, Island of the dogs and Mirai.
Earlier in the evening, Rami Malek won Best Actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Queen Biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Mahershala Ali won the Best Supporting Actress Award for Best Feature Film of the Year, Green paper, while Regina King won Best Actress in Supporting Actress for her performance in If Beale Street could speak.
Among the winners of this year's ceremony, Olivia Colman for The favourite, Rami Malek for Bohemian Rhapsody, Regina King for If Beale Street could speak and Mahershala Ali whose film Green paper won the best movie. Alfonso Cuarón won the best director award for his drama on Netflix Roma.
