[Spoilers] Make a Fight Cameo for Baby Yoda – Deadline

[ad_1]

Spoiler Alert: This recap of “The Rescue,” the Disney + Season 2 finale The Mandalorian, contains major revelations.

No Baby Yoda wasn’t turned to the dark side of the force, and he didn’t die aboard Moff Gideon’s ship as Mando, with help from Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves, Cara Dune and Fennec Shand move towards the Imperial Ship. Mando wants the kid back, and Bo-Katan wants Darksaber and Gideon’s head, as well as his spaceship. However, Cara wants the Imperial Boss to be alive in tonight’s gripping Season 2 finale, directed by Peyton Reed and written by series creator Jon Favreau.

So what probably happened the most breathtaking Mandalorian episode so far?

Luke Skywalker (a young CGI version of Mark Hamill who looks like the young Carrie Fisher we saw in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and R2-D2 show up to save the day and bring the child back with them to practice. It was a shock that no one really expected. We could have seen Thrawn finally make an appearance tonight, and some have even guessed that Ezra Bridger from the animated series Star Wars Rebels was supposed to train The Child aka Grogu, but alas, the little guy was still supposed to be under Luke’s watch.

The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ reboot scrapped at Disney +

Luke appears in the dying moments as our heroes are about to be recaptured by a platoon of black soldiers. Even though Mando blocked them earlier by freeing them into space via an airlock, they end up coming back to the bridge during the climax where our Mandalorian gang and Bounty Hunter have Gideon on their wrists. Luke flies aboard with his X-wing, slicing through stormtroopers and black soldiers. By the way, the Black Soldiers aren’t that far from the Terminator when it comes to metallic stamina, and nearly impossible for a guy like Mando to get out; our hero by finally subduing one in the throat with his Beskar staff. Before Luke reveals his face, we know from the Green Saber, the Black Glove, the Jedi Outfit, that he is Anakin Skywalker’s son.

At first, The Child is reluctant to go with Luke, but Skywalker’s son tells Mando that as his master, he must allow Baby Yoda to go. Mando takes off his helmet for the second time this season and gives The Child his approval. Gideon told Mando earlier that The Child “has been blessed with rare properties that have the potential to bring order to the galaxy” (does that sound familiar to you?), And that he was able to obtain the blood he needed from the child. After arriving, Luke tells Mando that Baby Yoda “is strong with strength but talent without training is nothing. I will give my life to protect the child, but he will not be safe until he has mastered his abilities.

But wait – there is more Return of the Jedi Things. If you play beyond the credits streak, we see Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s former right-hand man, sitting on his throne. Fennec walks in, pulling most of the creature around him and popping the blue dancer’s chains. Then Boba enters. Bib exclaims: “Boba, I thought you were dead!”. Boba then kills him and takes the throne at Jabba’s palace. And now?!

And while we’re not left out with a major cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 here; it looks like Baby Yoda for the time being has moved on, possibly returning for cameos with Luke in the future. Considering the scenes we saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi with Ben Solo going badly at Luke’s Temple, it would be wild if Adam Driver returned in the seasons to come. I really expected the child to turn gloomy and either be taken with Gideon, or become completely detached from Mando.

However, here is what remains unanswered for Season 3 of The Mandalorian:

– Tonight, Mando agreed to join Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves in their quest to take back Mandalore in exchange for their help in saving the child. As Bo explains, the Mandalorians have been in exile for too long. We can easily expect Bo, Mando, and Koska to return to their home planet in Season 3.

– But there is a twist: it’s Mando who takes possession of the Darksaber. And as Gideon explains, whoever wins the weapon in combat is entitled to the throne of Mandalore. This means that Mando is the king of Mandalore. He tries to hand the Dark Saber to Bo, but Gideon says nothing: she must win it to Mando in a fight. “Without the blade, she’s a contender for the throne,” says Moff, an axiom Bo admits to be true. So what is going on? Does Mando keep the Dark Saber and become the leader he never expected to be, or does Bo fight him?

– When will Thrawn appear? What about Ezra?

– And now for Moff Gideon? Cara takes him alive, right?

Disney +

– Just as the Darksaber drove us crazy when Season 1 released with speculation Season 2 would dive into The clone wars canon and characters, arguably the biggest head scraper came out of last weekend’s penultimate episode of season 2 “The Tragedy”. In the name of God, what is Mando’s past with the Empire? When Mando unmasks himself and has his face scanned and recognized by an Imperial computer, that brief sequence of hands screamed that we have unanswered questions about this guy.

Until next Christmas, when season 3 drops.
