Spotify refreshes your library, splits music and podcasts

Spotify has begun to roll out a major update to Your Library view in its mobile app that separates music and podcasts from each other. But it is only available for Premium subscribers.

"Starting today, we're giving Premium users a new version of your library that combines form and function," adds a new message to Spotify Newsroom notes. "Everything in the reinvented library is designed to allow you to access content faster than you want. It also makes it easy to get started and stay up to date with Spotify podcasts in a seamless and personalized experience. "

Prior to this update, your Spotify Library view provided a Podcasts entry in a list of mostly music-related items, such as playlists, songs, albums, artists, and so on. In the new version, Your library has prominent Music and Podcasts tabs, which allow you to easily switch between these types of content.

Inside each view, you will find relevant views for each type of content. The Music view contains Playlists, Artists, and Albums tabs, for example, while Podcasts contains episodes, downloads, and shows.

There are also other changes in this update. Spotify has created a new playlist called Popular Songs, available in the Playlists view, which contains all existing and future appreciated songs. Podcasts have a new Emissions tab that makes it easier for you to manage the podcasts you're watching and browse past episodes.
