Sprint, the merger of T-Mobile could get federal approval next week

Just days after general councils representing 10 states brought an action to terminate the combination of Sprint and T-Mobile, New York Times reports that the Justice Ministry "is getting closer" to approval. It apparently depends on an already announced deal, whereby both assets would be sold to create a new national wireless competitor.

the Time Dish Network, Charter and Altice are companies that apparently would have been invited to buy Boost Mobile, as Bloomberg reported earlier this week. If companies sell Boost Mobile and enough spectrum to be a fourth viable option, it could help them defend against accusations by Member States that a merger would hurt competition. The trick, though, is to first find someone to bite on the offer, and even the name of Amazon becoming a possible option, we will have to see who is interested before things move further.
