A possible witness to the stab the death of a Atlanta woman and her dog in Piedmont Park have come forward, according to local reports.
Atlanta Police The ministry shared photos earlier this week of potential witnesses walking through the park on the night of July 28, when 40-year-old Katie Janness and her dog, Bowie, were stabbed to death in what authorities said described as a “horrible” scene.
Police released additional photos on Friday of a person jogging in Piedmont Park on the night of Janness’ death – a witness who has since come forward and is cooperating with homicide detectives, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

Authorities have not made any arrests so far and have not publicly identified any suspects or persons of interest on Saturday morning.
Detectives went door-to-door in neighborhoods near the park, asking neighbors and businesses for surveillance footage. Police said that all nearby cameras under their control were operational at the time of the murder; and that investigators are reviewing all footage.
Janness, 40, and her dog Bowie were identified as the victims of a brutal stabbing Wednesday in Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta on Wednesday night.

The homicide “was so unique that I felt we had to collaborate with as many resources as possible,” Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant said in a briefing Tuesday.

Authorities are offering a reward of $ 10,000 for any information regarding Janness’ murder. Animal rights group PETA is offering its own award of $ 10,000.
