The Matthew Stafford-DeSean Jackson connection appears to be working well at Rams training camp this summer, with the two connecting for deep passes in seemingly every practice. They showed that connection on Saturday afternoon against the Cowboys at Oxnard, Stafford tossing Jackson an absolute penny for a huge win.

It happened after Stafford rolled over to his left and sent back to the right, a perfect pass to his quick receiver who crossed the pitch and got behind the defense. It was the highlight of practice as Stafford continued to show why the Rams are so high on him.

Sena McVay was also impressed with the play, saying it was “an incredible throw on her body.”

“These are the things you’ve always seen. You want to keep building on it. … It was a big step back there, ”he said.

With the way Jackson has played in camp, he could just be the Rams’ No. 3 wide receiver ahead of Van Jefferson right now. Stafford enjoys shooting on the field and Jackson’s speed allows him to do so.
